Avocado!

So tonight Rob and I decided to let the babies try some REAL food! Well, besides the rice and oatmeal we have been using. We have been substituting two meals already for rice and oatmeal and so far the babies are liking it. Carter is a total champ at eating - which is different from when we first started. But I think since the food is thicker, we are able to feed him faster which makes him happy. Madilyn tends to think that feeding times are also talking times, so she always takes a little longer to feed. Anyways, here are a few pictures from our feeding the babies avocado for the first time tonight!

Funny Friday #1

So, starting today, I am going to try to have a post every Friday called Funny Friday. I have so many silly videos and photos of the babies that we need to post, and I thought this would be a quick way to just post! So here is our first Funny Friday post! Enjoy!

At the beginning of this video, Carter is talking, and then Madilyn responds... In what we lovingly call her zombie voice!

Feeding Fun!

Yesterday was a fun day at the Biddle house. We have a few new toys for the babies - one of which is a bouncer. We let the babies try it out for a little bit and I think as they grow they will love it even more!

In addition to their new toys, we also had a fun evening. Mommy and Daddy decided it was a good time to try feeding the babies some rice cereal. It sure was a LOT of fun trying to get all the cereal where it was supposed to go! In all honesty, I think the babies did better than I thought they would. I fed Madilyn and Rob fed Carter. If it was a contest, I would say Madilyn won. She ate much better than Carter. He was a little fussy while he was eating - maybe because the food wasn't coming as quickly as his milk usually does. I am happy to say that they did both finish their cereal - and they both had some wet bibs when they were finished. As time goes by, the cereal will get thicker which hopefully will result in less spillage. And eventually we will get to feed them different foods -- foods that have some flavor! :) Here are a few pictures from our feeding last night.

Ok, maybe this cereal thing isn't so bad...

I might be messy, but I sure am cute!!

4 month check up

Yesterday the babies went in for their four month old check up. It's always bittersweet for me because it's nice to get official measurements and have the doctor look them over and tell us they are growing just perfectly. But, it also means that they need their immunizations - which, yes they need, but it makes me a little sad when they have to get poked with a needle. I am happy to say that both babies did great - even with their two pricks each. They really only cried for a few minutes, and were in fine spirits when we got home. Carter's been having some skin issues lately - which is probably my fault. I've always had dry skin so it makes sense why he is dry. The doctor recommended a few different lotions to treat the dryness and we are already seeing some results. At the appointment we also talked with Dr. Bahkta about starting solid foods, so we are going to try some rice cereal this week. (We will try to have the camera for that because I am sure it will be hilarious!) Dr. B also said to try new foods eventually and hopefully by 6-7 months they will be eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Of course, all babies are different so we will see how that goes!  Anyways, here are the stats with the percentages compared to other babies!

Carter:
Height: 26.5" (91%)
Weight: 15lb 1 oz (47%)
Head Circumference: 16.73" (52%)

Madilyn:
Height: 25" (72%)
Weight: 13lbs 5.8 oz (38%)
Head Circumference: 16.5" (71%)

4 months!

Yesterday we celebrated 4 months with our sweet babies! A few days prior, Rob and I were talking about how they were going to be 4 months, and then Rob said - Yeah, they'll be a quarter of a year old. Hold the phone. That makes them seem so old!! And that time is flying by!! Crazy! We are going to the doctor for checkups/shots on the 10th, and we will also be getting some real stats. Yay! So, here's what the babies are up to lately - as well as some pictures!

Madilyn:
*She has really found her tongue, and often uses it to make tooting noises.
*Smiles much more at us.
*Sometimes talks like a zombie/monster. So cute! :)

Carter:
*He has really developed his laugh. He is pretty ticklish and has such an infectious laugh!
*Carter is still wearing 3 month clothes, but barely. He is getting pretty big these days.

Both:
*They love to be sitting up and looking around.
*They are super drooly - We think they are going to be getting some teeth pretty soon.
*They also love having things in their mouths. Toys, hands, fingers. Anything. Which once again leads to the drooling part.
*They are TALKING! Not that we understand them, but the noises are coming on strong now.
*They can see us from farther away, and really focus in on what is around them.
*Grab and play (and eat!) the toys that are on their play mats.
*Scoot backwards on their booties on the mats.
*Move in their cribs at night. Madilyn sometimes makes a 180 degree turn from where we put her. Carter just likes to move towards the rails.
*They are both still napping during the day after each feeding, though Madilyn sleeps less than Carter does. Imagine that -- she doesn't want to miss anything!
*When they happen to notice the tv is on, they are fascinated with all of the colors they see.

I know I might be a little biased.. But MAN these are some cute babies!! :)
