Anyways, Rob and I took the big step last night and moved the babies into their room. We put them in their own cribs after the 8pm feeding. I do believe it was a little harder on me than Rob, but I think we were both ready for them to be in their own room. We do after all have a monitor as well as video cameras in there - so it's not like they are really alone. I put my iPad next to my side of the bed with the video monitor on just so I could watch them and make sure they were doing ok. The other monitor was turned up and put a little closer to me as well -- just in case they started crying! I actually slept much better than I thought I would. It was hard to sleep at first, but as the night went on and we did our two feedings, I found it easy to get back to sleep each time. The babies did wake up a little earlier than usual this morning by about 30 minutes and Rob and I think it might be because it's a little brighter in their room than ours. So that will have to be fixed! Anyways - here's a picture of what I was looking at last night before going to sleep!
In other news, the cats are very happy because we now have our bedroom door open since the babies are not sleeping in there. So needless to say, last night they were little explorers, and I even had my little Wooter sleep with me. As I told Rob, two babies left my room, but I gained one furry baby back in the process.
We also unofficially weighed them this week. Carter is weighing in at about 10 1/2 pounds - and boy can you tell! He is turning into quite a little chunk! We actually lovingly refer to him as our chunky monkey. Madilyn is weighing in at almost 9 1/2 pounds. She is doesn't eat quite as much as Carter does - perhaps because she is watching her girlish figure - but she is still gaining each time we weigh her. We will be getting official weights and measurements at the doctor too which we are pretty excited about.
This past week we also went out to dinner with the babies for the first time. As "Aunt Kimmie" said, this is the easiest time to go out and eat with the babies because they aren't talking - or throwing things! I saw some logic in what she was saying, so Rob and I decided to try it out. However, I did make Aunt Kimmie and her hubby come out with us just in case her logic proved wrong. Carter slept the whole time, and Madilyn (no surprise to me) was awake the whole time. But, she was in a pretty good mood, and really enjoyed looking around the restaurant.
I have a few pictures to post but I will try to post them this weekend. Sleep is calling my name - and I best try to get in a few ZZ's before it's time to feed the babies again!
